| It is with great sadness that we must tell you that Rick Mathisen passed away suddenly on January 5th.
Rick was a valued member of the chapter helping many times in the kitchen making pancakes and at special events doing whatever was needed.
Mostly, Rick was greatly responsible for the early success of the chapter's youth program. Rick took the reins in the early going and guided the mentor team as they worked on the Ultra-Lite Pietenpol. Rick turned the program into a weekly event and his expertise in wood-working was much needed in the forming and completion of the wings. That dedication brought Rick and his team the honor of being recognized as Members of the Year with the chapter.
Rick will be missed by all that knew him. Details of any services are not known at this time and will be passed along as soon as we learn about them. Please keep Rick's family and friends in your prayers.
